The Role
the Management Accountant is responsible for providing financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making, drive revenue growth, optimise costs and enhance the overall profitability of the organisation.
Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will prepare financial reports, coordinate budgeting and forecasting activities, support compliance obligations and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information, including preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
- Analyse financial results and provide commentary on business performance and key trends.
- Support the preparation of annual statutory financial statements.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process and assist with long-term forecasting across the organisation.
- Work collaboratively with department managers and senior leaders to monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate monthly customer billing activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Support the Accounts Payable function, including vendor management and payment processing.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare financial information for internal and external audit requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and system efficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilise financial systems and technology to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance.
- CA or CPA qualified or working towards completion.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and commercial accounting experience.
- Experience preparing financial reports, reconciliations and management reporting.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP/accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
