4AI Systems is building
multi-sensor artificial intelligence perception and advisory systems for rail. Our
system is designed to help improve rail vehicles performance through harnessing
sensor technology to alert to operational conditions in front of the moving
vehicle. Our system is deployed in Australia and is continuing to
grow.
As a result of ongoing growth, we have an
opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and
contribute to the successfully delivery of projects.
This is a
permanent, full time position based in Perth, WA. The role will initially be working from home
with weekly customer site visits and will transition to working in the office
in the medium to longer term.
The
Role
The Project Engineer will
support the design, implementation, testing, and commissioning of assigned
projects in line with project plans and requirements.
The daily activities of this
role include:
- Supporting project planning and delivery,
including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Coordinating engineering activities
across internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers
- Reviewing and managing technical
documentation such as drawings, specifications, and design changes
- Ensuring works comply with relevant
standards, legislation, and company procedures
- Supporting procurement and contract
administration, including purchase orders and delivery tracking
- Monitoring project progress, identifying
risks and issues, and contributing to mitigation strategies
- Maintaining accurate project records and
supporting project handover and close‑out activities
- Responding promptly to customer requests
while maintaining strong professional relationships
- Communicating with engineers and
technical support staff regarding project requirements, equipment
performance, onsite works, and general hardware troubleshooting
About
You
The
successful candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Systems
Engineering or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting the
design and implementation of technical solutions within a project delivery
environment
- Well‑developed problem‑solving and
troubleshooting skills, with the ability to recommend effective solutions
- Strong interpersonal and communication
skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors,
and internal stakeholders
- Sound written communication skills,
including experience contributing to technical and project documentation
- The ability to work effectively both
independently and under the direction of a Project Manager
- Comfort working in a customer‑facing
environment
- A willingness and ability to travel
locally and occasionally interstate
- Current drivers licence

This role
