About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor with a strong background as an Electrical Fitter to lead a workshop team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and can motivate others to maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day workshop operations.
• Lead and support a team of electrical fitters and apprentices.
• Oversee the assembly, wiring, and testing of custom switchboards.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and internal quality procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to meet production schedules.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in production and workflow processes.
• Drive team performance and uphold workmanship standards.
Skills and Experience
• Qualified Electrical Fitter / Electrician (Switchgear Workers Licence or equivalent).
• Proven experience in switchboard manufacturing or electrical assembly.
• Strong and demonstrated leadership skills and a proactive attitude.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality assurance standards.
• Familiar with AS3000, AS61439 and the Victorian SIR’s.
Qualifications
• Electrical Fitting trade or equivalent.
• Proven experience working as an Electrical Fitter within the manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant Australian electrical standards/regulations (AS/NZS 3000, AS61439 and the Victorian SIR’s) is desirable but not mandatory.
