Already partway through your apprenticeship and looking for a fresh opportunity to grow your skills? At Hutcheon & Pearce, we’re on the lookout for 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Technician who is ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll join a supportive team of experienced technicians, working hands-on with John Deere machinery while continuing your TAFE studies. Whether you’re building on your foundation or ready to tackle more advanced diagnostics, we’ll help you level up.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out basic repairs, servicing, and maintenance on construction, agricultural and turf equipment
- Learning how to remove, disassemble, and recondition components
- Supporting senior technicians and learning from the best in the business
- Participating in TAFE and tailored training programs, including the EDUCATE Core Curriculum
- Following safety procedures and completing job-related reports and documentation
- Performing pre-delivery inspections and setups on new equipment
What You’ll Bring
- A genuine interest in construction and agricultural machinery and mechanical systems
- Basic knowledge of engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems
- Willingness to learn diagnostic tools like John Deere’s Service Advisor
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A current driver’s licence and forklift licence (preferred)
- Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a drive to become a qualified Diagnostic Technician
