About the Role:

The Asset Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end operational, technical, and commercial performance of the Templers 111MW / 300MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This role ensures that ZEBRE’s physical asset is maintained to the highest standards, remains compliant with Australian energy regulations, and fulfills all obligations under the Toll and Maintenance agreements while proactively managing HSE risks.

Key Asset Parameters

•Asset: Templers BESS (111MW / 2.7 Hours)

•Counterparties: ZEN Energy (Offtaker/Toller), Sungrow (OEM/Maintenance Provider), ElectraNet (transmission service provider), with reduced engagement required with further counterparties

•Location: South Australia (NEM)

Education and Qualifications

• BESS Expertise: Minimum 3+ years in utility-scale renewable asset management, specifically with Lithium-ion BESS.

• Technical Background: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.

Skills and Experience

• Contractual Acumen: Proven experience managing complex Energy Purchase Agreements (PAs) or Tolling Agreements will be viewed favourably

• HSE Rigor: Demonstrated experience in managing high-risk contractors and improving safety cultures in industrial settings will be viewed favourably

Interpersonal Capabilities

• You will engage collaboratively with stakeholders across the business and externally as well.

• Conflict Resolution with the ability to hold OEMs (like Sungrow) accountable under pressure.

• We would love you to be able to clearly explain and deliver information, even if it is complex.

• A strong attention to detail, self-organisation, and ability to meet deadlines is important.

• You will be passionate about learning the issues relating to the energy industry, particularly in renewables.

Technical Capabilities

• Data Literacy: Ability to interpret battery degradation curves and performance reporting

• NEM Knowledge: General understanding of the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM) and FCAS markets.
