About the role

We are on the lookout for skilled and passionate Café staff to join our team at The Little Social’s Alfred Hospital location! If you are looking on the floor with a team passionate about coffee, community and impact, here is your chance.

At The Little Social, every coffee and every meal served does more than fuel the day, it fuels change. We’re a social enterprise powered by Youth Projects, a Melbourne-based charity providing vital frontline support to people experiencing disadvantage, homelessness, and unemployment.

How can we further that commitment to change? Well, through our cafés, we also provide young people the chance to gain real-world hospitality experience, skills and confidence to create real opportunities through our renowned Here for Hospitality Program!

As a Café All Rounder at the new Footscray Hospital, you’ll be an all-round team player with standout barista skills, a passion for good food and even better service; helping us deliver an exceptional café experience to staff, patients, and visitors while creating a warm and welcoming space for everyone who walks through our doors.

What you’ll be doing

  • Crafting high-quality coffee with consistency and care (your barista skills will shine here).
  • Delivering genuine, friendly customer service that keeps people coming back.
  • Supporting smooth daily operations in a busy hospital café environment.
  • Assisting with mentoring and supporting young people in our Here 4 Hospitality training program.

About you

  • You’re an experienced barista who knows your way around specialty coffee.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced café environment and stay cool under pressure.
  • you don’t mind jumping form task to task and helping out where needed.
  • You’re adaptable, reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team.
  • You care about community and want your work to have a positive impact.
