The Opportunity:
Working within the Palmerston Youth Centre. The Youth Worker is responsible for proactively engaging and supporting young people to participate in safe, engaging, and inclusive programs. The role ensures young people are effectively supervised, daily operational and administrative tasks are completed, all internal Work, Health and Safety (WHS) and Safeguarding requirements are completed and adherence to external, legislative reporting requirements are maintained. The Youth Worker plays a key role in the delivery of a safe environment for young people while ensuring compliance with organisational policies, safeguarding requirements, and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
– Support your team and encourage participation in programs for young people. while actively contributing to a positive team environment and culture.
– Build and maintain positive, respectful and supportive relationships with young people. through role modelling, promote a safe and inclusive environment for all young people.
– Communicate clearly and professionally with your supervisor, team leader and manager, provide feedback on programs and youth engagement, child safety and WHS concerns.
– Complete all daily tasks as directed by supervisors, team leader and manager, help to maintain a clean, well presented environment during daily programs.
– Uphold daily reporting requirements with support from supervisors team leader and manager.
develop and demonstrate an understanding the YNT’s youth programs and objectives.
