About Us:
Yinhawangka Aboriginal Corporation (YAC) is the Prescribed Body Corporate for the Yinhawangka people of the Pilbara region of Western Australia. We are a community-controlled organisation representing and advancing the rights, interests and aspirations of our Traditional Owners.
YAC works to protect and manage Yinhawangka country, culture and heritage, while building strong partnerships that deliver sustainable economic, social and cultural outcomes for our community. This includes working closely with industry partners to implement complex agreements that support co-management, employment, governance and long-term benefits for current and future generations.
We are values-driven, accountable to our members, and committed to strong governance, respectful relationships and practical delivery. Our work is grounded in culture, collaboration and doing what we say we will do.
About the Role:
Yinhawangka Aboriginal Corporation (YAC) is entering a critical phase focused on implementing a major new agreement with a key industry partner, alongside the development of a longer-term agreement.
This role exists to make the agreement operational.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Change Manager will coordinate the practical implementation of agreement commitments, translating negotiated outcomes into clear processes, tools, governance arrangements and ways of working across YAC and partner interfaces.
This is a hands-on delivery role, suited to someone who brings structure to complexity, writes clearly, and can confidently work across senior leaders, operational teams and technical specialists in a high-accountability environment.
Key Duties:
You will be responsible for turning agreement commitments into day-to-day operational reality by:
- Coordinating implementation of the Interim Modernised Agreement and preparing for transition to the final agreement
- Developing and managing an integrated implementation plan with clear milestones, dependencies and accountabilities
- Acting as the central coordination, escalation and liaison point between YAC, the industry partner and subject matter experts
- Mapping, designing and documenting end-to-end workflows for agreement-driven and co-management processes
- Translating agreement obligations into practical operational frameworks embedded into business-as-usual
- Drafting procedures, protocols, work instructions, templates and practical “how-to” guides
- Designing reporting tools, dashboards, trackers, risk registers and issue logs
- Supporting leaders and teams through clear communication, guidance and structured change enablement
- Preparing high-quality papers and updates for governance forums and executive decision-making
What We’re Looking For
Essential experience and capability:
- Demonstrated experience leading complex change or implementation initiatives
- Strong technical and operational writing skills
- Proven ability to design end-to-end processes, workflows and operational frameworks
- Solid project management capability with a track record of delivery
- Experience developing procedures, templates, protocols and implementation tools
- Ability to build practical reporting, tracking and dashboard tools
- Confidence working with senior leaders, governance bodies and operational teams
- Experience operating in large, regulated or multi-stakeholder environments
Highly regarded:
- Experience working with Aboriginal community-controlled organisations
- Exposure to heritage, land access, resources or agreement-based operational environments
- Experience working in cross-cultural or Traditional Owner settings
Personal Attributes
- Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple workstreams
- Able to work effectively with ambiguity and complexity
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Practical, solutions-focused and delivery-oriented
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
