Description

YFS is seeking an experienced clinical therapist (2+ years) to join Queensland’s first Functional Family Therapy – Child Welfare (FFT-CW) program. This evidence-informed model supports vulnerable families in Browns Plains and Beaudesert, promoting lasting behavioural change.

Be part of an experienced team of passionate therapists who are implementing Queensland’s first Functional Family Therapy – Child Welfare (FFT-CW) program. FFT-CW is an evidence-informed therapy program that achieves lasting behaviour change for vulnerable families in the Browns Plains and Beaudesert region.

You’ll be working with families and children in their homes to create meaningful change by helping them to understand their strengths and teaching them new ways to solve problems.

As well as having clinical experience, the person for this role will need to be flexible, engaging and have a high level of emotional intelligence.

About the job

Role location: Jimboomba. Our Jimboomba office is only 30 minutes from Logan and Springfield, and a one-hour drive from the Gold Coast.

Role type: Permanent, full-time

Pay range: $101,106 – $115,348 a year based on experience, with salary packaging available, exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax

You will

  • Deliver structured, in-home therapy sessions aligned with the FFT-CW phased model.
  • Work flexible hours, including two or more evenings per week.
  • Participate in intensive training and ongoing clinical supervision.
  • Operate from our Jimboomba office with work-from-home options.

About you

Aside from meeting the key capabilities outlined in the related position description available from the link below, ideally you will bring the following: you are flexible, have emotion intelligence with a strong client focus.

  • You will also have tertiary qualifications in psychology, or a Master’s in Social Work or counselling.
  • Professional registration with PACFA, AASW, ACWA, ACA, or APHRA (or psychological equivalent) is essential.
  • Experience in trauma-informed practice, family systems theory, and cognitive-behavioural therapy will be highly regarded.
  • A commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and people from diverse backgrounds is also important.
