We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to join our team in Mulwala, NSW. The position is full-time and based out of our head office in Mulwala with an employer who values your team and solution-driven mindset. You will need to be a confident, detail-oriented individual ready to thrive in a busy construction setting.
Qualifications:
- Certificate in Building and Construction or equivalent
- Construction Induction Card (White card)
- Current Drivers Licence
- Current Forklift Licence advantageous
Skills required:
- A minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Comprehensive knowledge of building methods, processes, and materials
- Sound computer literacy and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
- Ability to follow and drive for procedure improvements & efficiencies
- A positive and solution-driven mindset
- Strong work ethic and the willingness to help others and work within a team
- Personal pride in the quality of your work and strong attention to detail
- Confidence to work independently
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Ability to meet required deadlines
- Ability to supervise apprentices
- Experience working with a variety of trades
- A good understanding of the modular construction industry (desirable but not essential)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver efficient operational performance through effective construction supervision.
- Drive continuous improvement in quality.
- Ensure set build times are met or exceeded at all times.
- Ensure all plant and equipment is maintained according to agreed maintenance and
operation schedules.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement through improvements to systems, processes,
and equipment.
- Participate in the development of new products through delivering research on cost ability
to manufacture products.
- Reduce build costs and build times and minimise waste by continuous improvement and
development of lean building practices.
- Communicate effectively with the Warehouse Team to ensure all materials are delivered to
each job on time to ensure job readiness for trades.
- Conduct weekly capacity assessment for all trades and suppliers to ensure capabilities
meet the demands of all YMH projects.
- Develop the capacity of the Construction Team through recruitment and retention of
staff and subcontracting trades.
- Manage and further strengthen key relationships with all trades and suppliers.
- Ensure all Quality Control Inspections are completed at each build stage.
- Ensure compliance with and adhere to WHS regulations.
