Disability Support Worker/Peer Mentor – Make a Real Difference in Someone’s Day

Are you passionate about helping others live more independent, fulfilling lives? Join WeSupportU as a Disability Support Worker / Peer Mentor and play a meaningful role supporting children and young adults with disabilities to achieve their NDIS goals.

As a Disability Support Worker/Peer Mentor, you’ll act as a positive role model, encouraging participants to build confidence, independence, and life skills. Whether it’s supporting someone to attend an appointment, participate in a community activity, or grow their independence at home, your support will truly matter.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support participants in their homes and communities to achieve their NDIS goals
  • Encourage independence and community engagement
  • Drive or accompany participants to appointments and social activities
  • Be a trusted support, responding to needs, incidents, or wellbeing concerns
  • Communicate effectively with our team and attend Peer Mentor meetings
  • Collaborate with a dedicated, values-driven team

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • Your own car, mobile phone, and a full Victorian driver’s licence
  • Full comprehensive car insurance
  • A current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
  • Cleared NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one

Nice to have:

  • Experience or understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Availability for 10–20 hours per week

WeSupportU is a registered NDIS Service Provider established in 2018, servicing Bayside and Peninsula Melbourne. Since August 2025, WeSupportU has operated as part of the Access Your Supports group. What began with a small group of dedicated local health workers who believed the NDIS could be done differently has grown into a multi-disciplinary team of more than 50 employees. WeSupportU is dedicated to the social inclusion of young people, adults and families living with disability. At WeSupportU, we provide high-impact, evidence-based interventions through a coordinated and flexible approach that values the voice of every participant.
