We’re looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead the back-of-house food operation that keeps the show running.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-volume environments, enjoys the challenge of setting up kitchens in new venues, and knows how to keep food service running smoothly no matter the city.
You’ll be responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality food experiences across the entire tour while leading local kitchen teams and maintaining strong operational systems behind the scenes.
Expect busy show days, new cities, and the excitement of being part of a national touring production.
As part of the national tour, accommodation and travel between cities will be arranged and covered by the production. While on tour, team members will also receive a daily meal allowance to assist with food expenses. This ensures you can focus on delivering great hospitality experiences while enjoying the opportunity to work across multiple cities with the production.
Responsibilities:
Lead the kitchen operation
- Oversee all food preparation and service operations across show days
- Ensure food quality, consistency and service efficiency at every venue
Make touring kitchens work
Manage kitchen bump-in, set-up and pack-down in each tour city
Adapt operations to different venues and temporary kitchen setups
Keep the kitchen running smoothly
- Manage food ordering, supplier relationships and stock control
- Monitor food costs, portion consistency and minimise wastage
Build strong local teams
- Train and supervise local kitchen staff in each city
- Maintain clear communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams
Maintain high standards
- Ensure strict compliance with HACCP and state food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation and equipment standards at all time
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years experience in a Kitchen Manager or senior chef role
- Experience in events, large-scale catering or touring productions highly regarded
- Strong organisation and prep planning skills
- Solid knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Ability to adapt quickly to new venues and kitchen setups
- A calm, solutions-focused approach in busy service environments
If you enjoy the pace of live events, building great kitchen teams, and taking your skills on the road with a national production — we’d love to hear from you.
