Description

Senior Network Architect/Engineer.

Location: Preference Sydney

Eligibility: Australian Citizen or at least PR Status.

Start date: Available as soon as possible – Contract opportunity


Capable of delivering complex network discovery engagements, technical designs and technical implementations for a 150 user multi-site operation.


Initial Scope:

  • Current state network assessment (WAN, LAN, security, connectivity, diagrams, risks, technical debt)
  • Business drivers and target outcomes (modernisation goals, resilience, security, scalability)
  • RFP-ready requirements definition (functional, non-functional, segmentation, traffic flows, continuity)
  • Security and architecture review (zoning, inbound workload protection, risk and dependency analysis)
  • High-level commercial guidance (budget estimates, effort, timelines, future operating model)
  • Supporting documentation for procurement (RFP inputs, support model overview, transformation context)
  • Structured delivery (kickoff, document review, on-site workshop, analysis, draft + final report, exec walkthrough)
  • Fixed-scope discovery delivered over ~2–3 weeks with workshop and review sessions included
  • Explicitly excludes design, build, procurement, and implementation work

Future Scope:

  • Detailed solution design (low-level design, validated architecture, vendor alignment, configuration standards)
  • Procurement and licensing execution (hardware, software, carrier services, ordering, commercial finalisation)
  • Implementation planning (project plan, migration sequencing, site rollout approach, risk mitigation strategy)
  • Core network deployment (WAN, LAN, firewalls, segmentation, routing, internet breakout, security controls)
  • Inbound services and security implementation (exposure design, protection mechanisms, access policies)
  • Site-by-site rollout and migration (cutover execution, validation, rollback planning, business continuity assurance)
  • Testing and validation (functional testing, failover testing, performance validation, security verification)
  • Operational readiness (monitoring setup, documentation, runbooks, escalation paths, support model activation)
  • Knowledge transfer and handover (admin training, documentation packs, as-built diagrams)
  • Transition to managed services (ongoing support onboarding, SLA alignment, continuous improvement roadmap)
  • Delivered as a phased implementation program with defined milestones, governance, and reporting cadence
  • Excludes major scope changes, new requirements outside design baseline, or additional transformation streams without change control
