About the Role

Accounts Officer

📍 Cannonvale | 💼 Part-Time (35 Hours) | 🔒 Stable & Consistent

We’re on the lookout for a detail-driven and proactive Accounts Officer to join our team in Cannonvale. In this role, you’ll be supporting our Accounts Lead and reporting directly to our Financial & IT Systems Manager as part of a small but highly effective accounts team.

You’ll be involved in a wide range of financial and administrative tasks across accounts receivable, accounts payable, data entry, and customer support, playing a vital part in the smooth financial operation of our business.

Working Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Applicants must have valid Australian work rights for this position and working here does not count towards your 88 Days.

What You’ll Do:

  • Accurate and timely entry of invoices, credit notes, and customer payments
  • Management of accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and customer follow-ups
  • Debtor calling and monitoring overdue accounts to ensure timely collections
  • Setting up and maintaining new supplier and customer accounts in our system
  • Assisting with bank and account reconciliations
  • Maintaining and updating the chart of accounts and general ledger
  • Responding to inbound account-related inquiries via phone and email
  • Providing outstanding customer service and internal support on account matters
  • Supporting month-end processes and general financial reporting
  • Ensuring data accuracy across inventory, sales, and purchasing systems
  • Working closely with warehouse, purchasing, and sales teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Submitting supplier claims and following up on credit approvals and reconciliations
  • Providing leave coverage for supplier invoice entry as required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounts, bookkeeping, or a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience with chart of accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Experience in debtor management, supplier follow-up, and account reconciliation
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Competency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
  • Strong communication skills and a professional phone manner
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, or similar)
  • Availability to work during school holidays
  • Experience in a foodservice, FMCG, or warehouse/distribution environment (desirable)
  • Familiarity with stock and inventory systems (desirable)
