Located: WALGA HQ West Leederville / on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

At WALGA, there is always something happening, from sector events and training to advocacy work and on-the-ground initiatives across the Western Australian Local Government landscape.

We’re looking for a Multimedia Content Producer who’s ready to capture it all.

If you naturally see the story behind the moment, this role is for you. Whether it’s a key announcement, a training graduation, a site visit or an advocacy initiative coming to life, you’ll be there to capture it and turn it into engaging content that showcases the real impact of Local Government across WA.

About the role

This is a hands-on, creative role focused on capturing and producing high-quality video and photography across WALGA’s work. You’ll work across the full content lifecycle, planning, shooting, editing and delivering content for campaigns, communications and digital platforms.

You’ll spend time in the field and at events, capturing key moments as they happen, or following up on recent sector updates and initiatives. This could include showcasing projects across metro and regional areas, documenting environmental advocacy in action, or filming key moments involving WALGA leadership and stakeholders.

Curiosity and initiative are key. You’ll identify opportunities, suggest ideas and take the lead on content that strengthens WALGA’s digital asset library. You’ll look after the content studio and provide asset and graphic design support when needed. Working closely with the Graphic Designer, Digital Marketing Advisor and broader team, you’ll help shape how WALGA’s stories are captured and shared.

What does this mean in practice?

One day might see you:

  • Filming interviews, stakeholder moments or internal training sessions
  • Capturing on-site footage across projects, events or community initiatives
  • Editing and producing video content ready for digital channels

The next, you could be:

  • Flexible to react to emerging opportunities with the enthusiasm to capture the best picture or video in the moment
  • Working with the team to plan content using the drone that supports a campaign
  • Preparing and organising content so it’s ready to be used across the organisation

What about you?

You’re naturally creative with a passion for creating engaging content.

You bring demonstrated experience in videography and photography, with strong capability in filming, editing and post-production. You’re confident working across the full content lifecycle and comfortable moving between on-location shoots and office-based work. You’re curious, proactive and full of ideas.

You don’t wait to be asked, you notice opportunities and suggest new ways to capture stories that are worth telling. You’re organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Most importantly, you enjoy working with others. You’re confident engaging with stakeholders and motivated by being part of a team that collaborates well and creates content that tells meaningful stories and makes an impact.
