About the Role
The Controlling Manager is responsible for reporting the company’s results, including management accounts, planning/budget/forecasting, key performance indicator data and profitability information.
This role manages the reporting process to ensure consistent, high quality and timely data. They will also provide analysis and comment on our reported results, including highlighting exceptions and trends for discussions at Board Meetings. The Controlling Manager is responsible for managing and developing the Management Accountant, providing coaching and supporting their professional growth.
About You
You’re an experienced and highly analytical finance professional who brings a strong foundation in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. With over five years of hands‑on experience in management accounting, you’re confident working with complex data, identifying trends, and providing meaningful insights that support strategic decision‑making.
You combine technical capability with strong communication skills, enabling you to translate financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders at all levels. You work accurately, independently and with a high degree of ownership, always meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- CPA qualification and/or tertiary studies in Business or Finance
- Over five years’ experience in budgeting, forecasting and management accounting
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas and data linking
- Experience with NetSuite (or willingness to develop this expertise)
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to build strong relationships and handle difficult conversations with professionalism
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A commitment to accuracy, quality and timely delivery of financial information
