Summary of the role:
Are you ready to build the foundation that keeps global logistics moving? At VICT, we’re looking for a versatile IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT department at the VICT! The role will be 60% network and 40% system based.
The incumbent will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s core technology foundation. This role bridges the gap between traditional system administration and high-level network engineering to ensure a seamless, secure, and highly available environment for critical operational systems. After onboarding, the successful candidate will join the IT team’s 24/7 on‑call schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Compliance: Ensure all Network Infrastructure are kept up to date with relevant updates and security patches. Implement and monitor firewall policies, VPNs, and endpoint security, ensuring the environment meets cybersecurity standards. Solid understanding across Core Network related technologies

Unified Infrastructure Management: Design and maintain physical and virtual server environments (VMware/Hyper-V) alongside robust network architectures.

Network Optimization: Manage and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, and specialized port/terminal wireless networks to ensure zero-latency connectivity for mobile assets.

Automation & Scripting: Use tools like PowerShell and Ansible to automate routine infrastructure tasks and system deployments.

Business Continuity: Oversee backup solutions (Veeam/Azure Backup) and Disaster Recovery protocols for both data and network paths.

Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with ISPs, hardware vendors, and specialized software providers (e.g., Navis, Kalmar, ABB).
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Networking or a related field.

Networking: Network protocols, network architecture and network security principles and Cisco technology platforms: Cisco Catalyst, Nexus & ISR Switching and Routing platforms

Systems: Windows/Linux Server Admin, Active Directory/Entra ID, Virtualization.

Cloud: Azure (IaaS/PaaS management), Office 365 administration.

Security: Zero Trust principles, Network Access Control (NAC), Security monitoring and reporting.

Automation: Familiarity with OT (Operational Technology) and Industrial IoT.
