About the role

The Showroom Team Lead role is a hands-on sales leadership role for someone who loves energising a team, improving performance and growing their leadership skills in a modern showroom environment.

You’ll lead retail sales and design consultants on the floor, driving conversion, raising standards, and embedding strong sales discipline. At the same time, you’ll help us experiment with AI tools and new technologies to improve quoting, follow-up, inspiration and operational efficiency.

We’re still building and improving how our showroom team operates, so you’ll have the chance to contribute ideas, improve processes and help shape a high-performing team environment.

You’ll work closely with the Retail Sales Manager and play a key role in bringing our new showroom to life.

Salary Range: $80k-95k + super + commission

What you’ll be responsible for:

Sales Performance & Conversion

  • Drive daily sales energy and momentum on the floor
  • Model best-practice selling behaviours and disciplined follow-up
  • Lift conversion across showroom visits and design appointments
  • Strengthen lead nurture and end-to-end sales execution

Team Leadership & Capability

  • Coach and develop consultants through real-time feedback
  • Set clear expectations and performance standards
  • Build confidence, accountability and sales capability
  • Create daily structure and momentum around targets

Customer Experience & Escalation

  • Deliver standout, design-led customer experiences
  • Resolve complex sales scenarios and protect brand experience
  • Ensure smooth movement from consult to quote to purchase to delivery

Showroom Operations

  • Oversee rostering, timesheets and visual merchandising standards
  • Maintain product knowledge excellence across the team
  • Ensure quoting accuracy and operational discipline
  • Identify friction points and implement improvements

Innovation & Technology

  • Experiment with AI tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency
  • Streamline workflows across quoting, follow-up and recommendations
  • Test new ways of operating that improve customer experience and performance

You are likely someone who:

  • Has experience leading a retail or sales team
  • Has strong commercial instinct and is motivated by targets and performance
  • Thrives on motivating and developing others
  • Is comfortable coaching and delivering feedback
  • Has experience in showrooms or retail 
  • Is confident using CRM, POS and reporting tools
  • Is curious about AI and new technology
  • Is comfortable in fast-paced environments where not everything is fully formed
  • Is comfortable working weekends as required on a shift basis

Interior design experience is helpful, but leadership and performance capability matter more.
