Assistant Finance Manager – Veracity

Veracity is seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Assistant Finance Manager to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership of the finance function and wants to play a key role in ensuring smooth financial operations across the business. We’re open to both full‑time and part‑time arrangements for the right candidate.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Finance Manager will perform bookkeeper and administrative duties and will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely financial data and supporting month‑end processes. You’ll work closely with the CEO and COO, as well as our external accountants. A secondary part of the role will be to assist with managing the day-to-day running of the office operations, including facilities and supplier management.
Key Responsibilities

Monthly customer invoicing, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.

Liaising with staff and the COO to ensure timesheets are completed and submitted on time.

Month‑end close activities, including:
- Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
- Preparation of manual journals
- Month‑end accruals and calculations

Preparation of monthly reporting to our parent company, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Supplier management, including:
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Preparation of the monthly payment run
- Office & Facilities Supplier Management and Ordering

BAS preparation, including GST and quarterly income tax provision (with oversight from the Finance Manager).

Liaising with our external accountants for payroll‑related and staff expenses queries, with full payroll processing currently managed externally. (Ideally will be moved internal if capability allows)

Maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring data integrity.

Bank reconciliation and reconciliation of credit card and expense accounts.

Accounts receivable follow‑up for outstanding customer payments.

Assisting with ad‑hoc finance tasks, process improvements, and internal reporting as needed.
About You
- Experience in a bookkeeping or assistant accountant role.
- Strong understanding of month‑end accounting processes.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills, with the ability to work across teams.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
- Familiarity with Xero, Dynamics Central, or similar cloud‑based accounting systems (desirable).
