Position Description: Veterinary Nurse 

Location: Campbelltown, NSW 

Looking for Full-Time (38 Hours) Vet Nurses

Veterinary Emergency Care Australia (VECA) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about animal care and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment. 

As a 24/7 clinic, our team covers a wide range of shifts, but we pride ourselves on flexible scheduling and working with you to create a schedule that fits your life. 

Duties: 

  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment notes and inventory/stock control  
  • Provide guidance to clients on animal care, health, hygiene, and general wellbeing 
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including safely restraining animals  
  • Clean and sterilise examination areas, surgical instruments, and equipment in line with hygiene standards  
  • Prepare surgical instruments and support veterinarians during procedures  
  • Assist with the administration of anaesthesia and oxygen during surgical operations  
  • Monitor animals during post-operative recovery, including observing vital signs and overall condition  
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian  
  • Perform administrative duties such as reception, appointment scheduling, and payment processing 

About You 

  • Passion for animal welfare and high standards of care  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment  
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail  
  • Comfortable handling animals of various sizes and temperaments  
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience as a Vet Nurse 
  • Relevant qualifications- minimum AQF Certificate III

 

 

Salary Range: $80,000- $100,000 base salary (depending on experience)
