This investment will scale Vault’s SECRET Cloud and introduce new services such as the AUKUS cloud capability, directly addressing Australia’s strategic national security demands. Due to Vault’s ongoing growth and commitment to delivering secure cloud solutions, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Support Specialist (L2) – Linux Infrastructure and Application Specialist to join our Operations Team, which is dedicated to ensuring Vault’s next-generation hyperscale cloud solutions remain available and secure, continuously delivering customer value and protecting Australia’s most critical data. The role is based in our Canberra office and will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and security of Vault’s Hyperscale Cloud infrastructure.
As a member of the team you will contribute by:
- Supporting, maintaining and enhancing the configuration of hardware and software infrastructure components and technologies underpinning Vault’s critical hyperscale cloud regions.
- Applying your Subject Matter Expertise within the multi-disciplinary Operations Team to provide prompt first rate support to all of Vault’s Hyperscale Cloud Regions and Customers.
- Collaborating with Product Owners and working within cross-functional Engineering teams to innovate, design and support advanced infrastructure solutions.
- Taking on complex technical issues that require specialist knowledge and experience to resolve.
- Keeping records and documentation up to date and reflective of current configuration and processes
- Working within Vault’s Corporate Governance Policies and ITIL based Support and Change Management systems.
- Driving continuous improvement in all aspects of the business, particularly operational processes, procedures and functions.
- Being a good communicator, team player and someone who Gets It, Wants It and has the Capability to do it.
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate with:
- The scope of this role requires an Australian Government Security Clearance; therefore, applicants must be Australian Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
- Demonstrated High-Level proficiency with Linux Operating Systems.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Enterprise Server Infrastructure and maintenance
- Linux Virtualization e.g., KVM
- Enterprise Storage Solutions – Block and Object Storage
- Automation tools e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins
- Previous experience with Openstack and components (e.g., Swift, Ceph, Keystone etc) highly regarded but not essential
- Participate in rotating on-call roster..
- Experience working in operational environments including:
- Working in an ITSM environment using tools such as Jira
- DevSecOps workflows via CI/CD pipelines using e.g., GitLab
