Do you love Lifeguarding, keeping guests safe, and making them smile? Join our crew!
We are looking for Lifeguards to join our team at URBNSURF Sydney in Olympic Park.
The Role:
Being a Lifeguard at URBNSURF isn’t your typical poolside gig: it’s a chance to work in a one-of-a-kind aquatic environment while being part of the fast-growing surf park scene. Safety is critical, and your number one responsibility is keeping our guests safe in and around the waves, while also making sure they have an awesome experience every time they visit. That means staying fully attentive and proactive at all times- spotting potential hazards, preventing accidents before they happen, and ensuring everyone enjoys their session. You’ll also work closely with the Surf Guides and Duty Manager teams.
What are we looking for:
• Qualified Lifeguards with Aquatics Experience: Surf Lifesaving, Pool Lifeguarding, swim teaching, or other water safety roles
• A love for working in and around the water, and being comfortable in all kinds of Sydney weather- sun, rain, heat, or chill
• Friendly, positive, flexible, quick to adapt attitude
• Consistent availability of at least 2 shifts per week, and regular weekend availability
Qualifications and skillset:
Required:
• Pool Lifeguard qualification
• First Aid and CPR certifications
• Working with Children Check (If 18 years or older)
• Ability to swim confidently in an aquatic environment featuring strong rip currents and breaking waves
•
Preferred, but not essential:
• At least one season working as a Lifeguard elsewhere
• OSSCA – Australian Professional Ocean Lifeguard Association
• SLSA – Bronze Medallion
• Surf Rescue Certificate: SLSA Community Award
Eligibility:
• You’ll need to have the required qualifications before applying- we can’t consider applications without them.
• We ask that you’re available for at least 2 shifts each week, with one of those being on the weekend (Friday night, Saturday day, or Saturday night). Regular weekend availability is a must.
• URBNSURF Sydney operates anywhere from 6am to midnight depending on the season, so flexible availability is a big plus!
Timeline:
• Interviewing now!
• Induction & Training late November / early December
• This is a casual role with minimum of 2 shifts per week
Pay guide: Amusement, Events & Recreation Award – Grade 3 (Casual)
