About the Role

Exciting Business Development Role in Auckland! We are seeking a driven Business Development Executive to join our rapidly scaling commercial team. Your primary responsibility will be to target, acquire, and onboard new corporate customers for Urban Rest’s accommodation network across Auckland and Wellington. With a deep understanding of business development and a passion for the accommodation sector, you will use your range of tactics to identify and convert new accounts into bookings.

You will prospect potential customers, negotiate rates and contracts, document leads and opportunities, and research market developments. You will also collaborate with the wider commercial team to maximise revenue and network growth.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as calling and face to face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking events and conferences.
  • Establish relationships and secure contracts with new customers that achieve assigned sales quotas and targets.
  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to contracting and handover to Account Management.
  • Appropriately manage RFPs where required, coordinating internal stakeholders and ensuring timely submission. Negotiate rates and ensure contractual obligations are documented appropriately.
  • Work closely with Urban Rest’s Revenue & Distribution team to ensure Urban Rest product, rates and availability are distributed to the travel partner and bookable.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with our wider travel business partners.
  • Appropriately document leads, opportunities and market intelligence in Urban Rest Salesforce to provide clear visibility on the opportunity pipeline.
  • Undertake site inspections at Urban Rest product, showcasing apartments and facilities where possible.
  • Research and strategic planning; research project and ongoing developments within market that could result in strategic opportunities.
  • Working closely with the wider commercial team (Reservations, Revenue Management and Marketing) to take advantage of commercial opportunities and ensure profitability of the wider Urban Rest network.

  • Ability to source and develop a strong pipeline of sales opportunities.
  • Ability to confidentially navigate prospecting opportunities and leads.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Very strong relationship skills; ability to manage different types of stakeholders and personalities.
  • Highly commercial and entrepreneurial; seeing new opportunities to grow revenue, profitability and network growth.
  • Problem solving skills; being able to find solutions to alleviate pain points for clients.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in either the accommodation or travel sectors.
