Hume Riverina Community Legal Service (HRCLS)

Location: Based in Wodonga, Victoria

Employment Type: Part-time (0.6 FTE) | 12 Month Maximum-term

 

  • Salary between $78,664 to $84,355 pro-rata (based on skills and experience) PLUS Super!

Hume Riverina Community Legal Service (HRCLS) is a service of Upper Murray Family Care (UMFC), a proudly independent, community-managed organisation, dedicated to strengthening families and individuals across North East Victoria and the Southern Riverina of NSW and an organisation committed to social justice, inclusion and trauma-informed care. 

HRCLS is a generalist, place-based, cross-border community legal centre providing free legal assistance in civil and family law to those who are most in need: people experiencing barriers to accessing justice who have intersecting legal and non-legal problems. We do this through partnerships with community, education, health and specialist family violence services.

HRCLS is offering an exciting maximum-term contract opportunity for a Client Experience Officer to join our team; a pivotal tole that ensures clients feel welcomed, heard and supported from their very first interaction.

About the Role

As the first point of contact, you set the tone for the client experience. You will provide high-quality reception, intake, and administrative support, while assisting clients to access the legal help they need.

This is a fast-paced, people-focused role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with our legal team and support the coordination of services.

 

As a Client Experience Officer, you will:

  • Act as the first point of contact, providing a welcoming, trauma-informed experience, triaging enquiries, booking appointments, and offering accurate information and referrals.
  • Support front-of-house operations, maintain appointment systems, and ensure smooth daily reception functions.
  • Deliver administrative support to the legal team, including correspondence, record-keeping, and general office coordination.
  • Assist with coordinating meetings and provide secretariat and logistical support where required.

You will bring:

  • Experience in administration, reception, or client service (legal or community sector highly regarded)
  • A strong commitment to working with vulnerable and marginalised communities in a trauma-informed way
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your approach High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, client management systems)
  • The ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • A collaborative, team-focused mindset
