Description

Are you looking for a role that’s more than just a job?

At the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre, we provide a sanctuary for individuals and families navigating the complexities of life with type 1 diabetes (T1D). We’re looking for a special kind of person to join us as our Practice Coordinator – someone whose warmth and efficiency make everyone feel seen, supported and welcome from the moment they walk through our Centre’s doors or contact us.

This is a full-time, non-clinical role (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm) at the heart of our Family Centre. Reporting to our Operations Manager, you are the calm presence in our clinic, the friendly organiser who makes each person and family’s journey smoother, and the positive force that sets a supportive tone from the first moment someone connects with us. It’s a hands-on coordination role with real ownership – perfect for an experienced medical receptionist or practice administrator ready to take a step up.

What your impact will look like:

  • Creating a welcoming experience: You’ll be the first smile our visitors see, greeting every child, parent and adult with genuine warmth and keeping our Centre a tidy, safe and positive space for all.
  • Being the hub of connection: You’ll manage appointments with our health professionals, handle phone and email enquiries with empathy and knowledge, and keep information flowing smoothly between client referrers and our clinical team.
  • Running the practice: You’ll own the day-to-day operation of the clinic – scheduling, patient records, Medicare and private billing, and clinic reporting that helps us keep improving.
  • Looking after our space: You’ll take pride in our facilities, keeping our reception, kitchen, meeting and training rooms and clinic areas clean, organised and ready.

What you bring to our Family Centre:

We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just have the skills, but who shares our passion for creating community.

  • You are naturally warm, empathetic and find genuine joy in helping others.
  • You have at least 2 years’ experience in a medical reception or practice administration role, ideally leading a front desk.
  • You’re tech-savvy and confident using practice management software (experience with Cliniko is a big plus).
  • You have experience with Medicare and private health billing.
  • You’re a master of multitasking, able to prioritise with a calm and positive attitude.
  • Your reliability is unquestionable, and you thrive taking ownership in a structured role.

Why join us?

This is your chance to be an essential part of a close-knit team that makes a tangible difference every day to people living with type 1 diabetes. You’ll be surrounded by a supportive team and a community that will value your contribution immensely.

Ready to be the welcoming heart of our Family Centre?

Please send your CV and a cover letter outlining why this purpose-driven role speaks to you and what you’d bring to our team.

Applications close on 24 June 2026. We’ll be reviewing applications as they come in, so we encourage you to apply early.
