Trust for Nature is a not-for-profit conservation organisation that works to protect native plants and wildlife in cooperation with private landholders. Created in 1972 under the Victorian Conservation Trust Act 1972 (Vic), Trust for Nature has a proud history of working across the government, not-for profit and private sectors to achieve permanent protection of important conservation land across Victoria.  

About the role 

We are seeking a Relationship Manager for Bequest and Land Donations to join our passionate and purpose‑driven team. The role offers an opportunity to use your talents to help prevent species extinction and protect private land in Victoria forever.  

In this role you will work closely with our Senior Relationship Manager to grow and nurture Trust for Nature’s relationships with covenantors, donors and partners who would like to give cash and or non-cash (land) in support of our work.  

Regular travel throughout regional Victoria is a core requirement of the role to have face-to-face visits to support complex legacy and land conversations.

What’s on offer 

This is a two‑year fixed‑term position, offered on a part‑time basis at 0.60 or 0.80 FTE, with flexible working arrangements supported. 

The role operates in a hybrid model, combining work from home with face‑to‑face days and stakeholder visits throughout Victoria. 

The annual base salary range is $79,517 to $90,220 plus 12% superannuation. This is the pro‑rata salary based on 0.80 FTE.  

About you 

We are looking for someone who is passionate about conservation and brings strong interpersonal skills, professional judgement and perspective gained through substantial relevant and relatable experience.  

In this role, you will support stakeholders through discussions that include long-term planning, legacy considerations and sensitive financial or personal matters. Your ability to relate authentically and build trust over time will be critical to your success. 

The successful candidate will bring: 

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar fundraising role 
  • Demonstrable success implementing the principles of best practice legacy fundraising and relationship management.  
  • Ability to build rapport and credibility and maintain positive, trusted relationships to support long-term engagement. 
  • Ability to advise, influence and engage stakeholders sensitively and with patience. 
  • The ability to use a database or Customer Relationship Management system. (Knowledge of Salesforce would be ideal.)  
  • This position requires a Driver’s license and willingness to travel.
