About the role
We’re searching for a highly organised Conservation Project Officer to join our passionate team.
This role is essential to the delivery of multiple conservation projects across the South East Victoria, and contributes to meaningful on‑ground outcomes. Familiarity with conservation and land management principles is required to provide guidance and undertake project activities. In this role you will proactively engage with partners and landholders regarding project delivery, conduct monitoring, spatial mapping and work with contractors to undertake on-ground project activities.

What’s on offer
This is a part‑time (0.80FTE) fixed term contract for two years.
The role offers an annual base salary of $71,117, plus 12% super, the pro rata amount based on 0.80FTE is $56,893.
The role operates in a hybrid model, with a blend of work from home, face‑to‑face days and field work.
Regular travel throughout South East Victoria is a core part of the role, with project work spread across East and West Gippsland.
We are seeking a candidate who is based in South East Vic or willing to move for the role.
About you
We are searching for someone who is passionate about conservation who is looking to grow their career in the Environmental sector. The successful candidate will bring;
- At least 1 year of experience working in the environmental sector
- Degree in environmental science, natural resource management, or similar/ relevant experience
- Understanding of conservation principles and practices, including legislation, and knowledge of Victorian Ecological Vegetation Classes, flora and fauna
- Demonstrated project delivery experience, including understanding of contractor management, budgets and report writing
- Experience mapping spatial mapping and GIS
- A driver’s licence is required.
