About the Team
As part of the Infrastructure Services Team, you’ll work within a highly collaborative environment responsible for defining and managing hosting environments that underpin Transmax’s products and customer solutions.
The team manages compute, storage, network infrastructure, and cloud environments supporting operational workloads, working closely with Service Desk and Application Support teams to ensure stability, performance, and continuous improvement of services.
About the Role
We’re seeking a Network & Infrastructure Engineer (Level 2) to support and enhance the infrastructure environments that deliver critical services to our customers.
This role will focus on maintaining high availability systems, supporting incident and problem management, and contributing to the implementation and improvement of cloud and on-premises infrastructure solutions.
You will also play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives, infrastructure projects, and ensuring environments remain secure, scalable, and reliable.
What You’ll Do
- Undertake scheduled operational work in line with Managed Services Agreements
- Manage and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and problems.
- Support implementation and migration of hosted and cloud services.
- Contribute to infrastructure improvements, including security and threat response.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, processes, and procedures
- Support project delivery and assist with tender and bid responses.
- Assist in evaluation, selection, and lifecycle management of infrastructure products and vendors.
- Monitor system performance and ensure adherence to SLAs and change management processes.
- Participate in a shared 24×7 on-call roster (one week at a time, on a rotating basis)
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in infrastructure engineering across server, storage, and networking.
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware/vSphere, AWS, and Linux systems.
- Experience supporting high-availability environments within SLAs and change control frameworks.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP) and Active Directory.
- Exposure to IaC (Terraform/Ansible), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring tools.
- Experience with backup solutions (e.g. Veeam).
- Strong organisation, problem-solving, and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
