The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Leading Hand to join our NSW Warehouse team.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll assist the Warehouse Supervisor and set the standard on the warehouse floor by guiding and mentoring others with a lead-by-example approach. You’ll play a key role in keeping the warehouse running smoothly, from organising inventory and ensuring safe work practices, to helping train and support the warehouse team (a close-knit group of six, including this role and the Warehouse Supervisor) to deliver results.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Picking, packing, unloading containers, put-away, and dispatch.
- Supporting the Warehouse Supervisor in daily operations and team coordination.
- Training and mentoring the team to work safely, efficiently, and accurately.
- Maintaining a clean, organised warehouse using 5S principles (sort, set in order, shine, standardise, sustain).
- Ensuring orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements that reduce errors and improve flow.
- Promoting a positive, safe, and productive warehouse culture.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated warehouse experience in picking, packing, dispatch, stocktaking, and logistics.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to train, mentor, and support others.
- Strong attention to detail and a process-driven approach.
- Appropriate fitness for heavy lifting and container unloading, with a current forklift licence.
- Computer literacy (MS Office, Sage Accpac, FMS preferred).
- Knowledge of WHS requirements to ensure a safe environment.
- Experience with Dangerous Goods (preferred).
- A proactive, positive attitude that contributes to team culture.
- Willingness to occasionally travel interstate to support our national warehouse network.
