In this role you’ll
- Support Council’s destination
marketing, deliver the monthly What’s Happening events newsletter, manage the image
gallery, maintain the website, and manage and grow Council’s destination social
media channels.
- Actively support and encourage
tourism and events businesses to establish and maintain accurate tourism
listings, and promote tourism through social media, newsletters, and The
Undiscovered website.
- Maintain positive and productive
working relationships with tourism operators, event organisers, and community
stakeholders.
- Assist the Coordinator Economic
Development and Tourism and support and liaise with Council’s Visitor
Information Centre Officer to achieve positive tourism outcomes.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated
experience in tourism, marketing, or communications, with a focus on promoting
place‑based experiences, events, or businesses through digital or public‑facing
channels.
- Proven
ability to manage and deliver engaging content across digital platforms,
including social media, websites, and/or e-newsletters, with an understanding
of audience engagement and brand presentation.
- Strong
written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and
engaging content suitable for newsletters, websites, and destination marketing
channels.
- Experience
coordinating, managing, or curating visual content for promotional use,
including maintaining image libraries, liaising with photographers or
suppliers, and ensuring content is fit for purpose.
- Demonstrated
ability to work collaboratively with tourism operators, event organisers, or
community stakeholders to support the promotion of activities and experiences
through Council‑managed channels.
- Well‑developed
organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, work
with initiative, and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment
in support of shared outcomes.
