Join our team as a Truck Driver in Melbourne. This permanent full-time position offers a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic logistics operation. The day-to-day duties of a truck driver generally include:

  • loading and unloading cargo or product, sometimes using lifting or tipping devices
  • ensuring cargo is safely secured throughout the trip
  • operating the truck safely and following all road safety rules and traffic laws, especially those relating to trucks
  • maintaining documentation, including logs, timesheets and records of any safety incidents
  • inspecting the truck to prevent any safety issue

Responsibilities:

  • Transport goods to various locations across Melbourne in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
  • Ensure compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain accurate digital and paper records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members
  • Load and unload goods as required, ensuring proper handling
  • Report any vehicle issues or accidents immediately

Qualifications:

  • Valid Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR or higher) with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a truck driver, with a minimum of 2 years in a logistics or freight transport environment.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws
  • Ability to operate a variety of vehicles and equipment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with electronic work diaries (EWD) and GPS navigation systems.
