As part of our mission, we’re looking to support the next generation of First Nations professionals by opening up meaningful entry points into the accounting profession.
About the Role
This is an entry-level role based in our Darwin office for a First Nations individual. No prior accounting experience is needed, just a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in business, finance or community impact.
You will be supported with hands-on training, mentoring, and learning opportunities designed to help you build your skills and confidence at a pace that suits you.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be gradually supported to take on duties such as:
- Assisting with data entry and document preparation for accounting and compliance tasks
- Supporting payroll and bookkeeping tasks under supervision
- Helping with reconciliation work and reporting in Xero and other software
- Communicating with clients (email/phone) in a professional and respectful manner
- Filing and organising client information securely and accurately
- Supporting the team with administrative and workflow-related tasks
What We’re Looking For
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Based in Darwin and able to work in-office
- Curious about the accounting profession, business, or finance
- Willing to listen, learn and grow in a team setting
- Organised, reliable and able to follow through
- Comfortable using basic technology (email, Word/Excel, etc.)
- Strong connection to community and an understanding of the value of Indigenous businesses
