We’re looking for a HR Officer to support key people initiatives and help drive a positive, high-performing workplace culture.

The Opportunity Due to an internal promotion, we have an opportunity in our team for a HR Officer. Reporting to the Senior HR Advisor, you will play an important role in supporting the HR team to manage all administrative functions and essential compliance of the department.

With the recent implementation of a new HRIS, you will assist us to refine our workflows, continuing to improve our onboarding and induction process, and assist with the onboarding and off-boarding of our people. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the employee HR database including onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Manage and ensure ongoing compliance with Child Safety and NDIS Worker screening checks, as well as Licensed Care Services checks.
  • Manage our training database, ensuring all mandatory induction and refresher training is completed by our employees.
  • Manage our qualifications database, ensuring employees are fully qualified and meeting their relevant study obligations.
  • Assist with drafting various communication and letters to employees.
  • Assist with the administration of employee wellbeing initiatives, including our birthday gifts, anniversary gifts, and our reward and recognition program.
  • Conduct ongoing audits of staff files and databases to ensure all information is current and correct, escalating where necessary.
  • Build strong working relationships with staff at all levels.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Champion continuous improvement, bringing innovative ideas to enhance our culture and employee experience.

About You To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • A qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a HR or People and Culture role in an administrative level.
  • Good working knowledge of generalist HR Best practices and employment law.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A strategic mindset with a passion for delivering practical, people-focused solutions.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
  • Bonus points for industry related experience and previous experience managing probity clearances! (Blue Card, NDIS Screening and LCS checks).

Compliance Requirements

  • Current Blue Card (or willing to apply)
  • Criminal history screening – prescribed notice yellow card (or willing to apply)
  • Current Licensed Care Service (LCS)
  • Current valid Open Queensland driver license (unrestricted)
