Description

Hi there! We’re Empowering Connection.

We’re a registered NDIS disability support provider based in South Australia. We wrap dedicated, person-centred support around our participants and their families — and our team is the heart of everything we do.

We believe great support starts with genuine connection. Whether working alongside someone in their SIL home, supporting community access, or being there through the night — we show up with care, consistency, and skill.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker at Empowering Connection, you’ll provide hands-on, meaningful support that helps participants live the life they choose — on their own terms.

You’ll work across community and Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments, as part of a team that genuinely looks out for each other and the people we support. Some roles include overnight and sleepover shifts — these are rostered and supported, and you won’t be left to figure it out alone.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing person-centred daily living support in line with each participant’s NDIS plan
  • Assisting with personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and community access
  • Working overnight and sleepover shifts in SIL environments as rostered
  • Supporting participants to connect with their community and build independence
  • Monitoring participant wellbeing and escalating concerns promptly
  • Completing accurate, timely case notes and documentation
  • Collaborating with your team to maintain a safe, warm, and consistent home environment
  • Upholding participant rights, dignity, and confidentiality — always

About You

You’re someone who turns up with heart — whether it’s 9am or 3am. You understand that for many of our participants, your consistency and warmth isn’t just helpful, it’s essential.

You’ll need:

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Valid South Australian driver’s licence
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module completion
  • Experience in disability support or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A genuine commitment to person-centred practice

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
  • Experience in SIL or residential support environments
  • Comfort with overnight and sleepover rostering
  • Familiarity with behaviour support plans or complex support needs
