About the role

As the Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. Working closely with the Finance team and broader stakeholders across the business, you will ensure financial processes are accurate, compliant, and efficient. 

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys accountability, problem-solving, and contributing to a practical, outcomes-focused organisation operating in the aged care, disability, and health sectors. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Payroll Processing: End-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of payroll queries 
  • Accounts Payable: Processing supplier invoices, preparing payment runs, reconciling statements, and responding to supplier enquiries 
  • Accounts Receivable: Issuing invoices, allocating receipts, following up outstanding balances, and responding to customer billing queries 
  • Cyclical & Month-End Reporting: Preparing regular reconciliations, assisting with month-end close, and producing routine financial reports 
  • Data Integrity & Compliance: Maintaining accurate financial records in line with legislation, accounting standards, and internal controls 
  • Process Support: Contributing to continuous improvement of finance systems and processes 

Who are we looking for

We are looking for a proaMore than qualifications, we are looking for someone with the right mindset – detail-oriented, proactive and eager to contribute to a growing organisation.

Ideally you will have: 

  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts, or payroll role 
  • Sound understanding of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes as well as Australian taxation requirements (GST, BAS and PAYG)
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy 
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a cyclical environment 
  • Good communication skills, with confidence dealing with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel 
  • Proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Professionalism, collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when required
