Urgent Complex Care Disability Support Worker required – Female (Punchbowl)

The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced female staff for a new service starting next week in the Punchbowl and surrounding areas. This role involves providing high-level complex care for a female participant.

To ensure the participant feels most comfortable and supported in her home environment, candidates from a Muslim background are highly encouraged to apply.

The Details

• Location: Punchbowl and surrounds.
• Hours: 5 hours per day across 7 days per week, 2:1 supports, set split shifts of 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening with a view to increase. You will also be added to the roster for other shifts if available.
• Pay Rate: $32.88 – $44.59 per hour, depending on experience.
• Start Date: Immediate – Next week.

Requirements:

• Diabetes Management: Twice-daily Blood Sugar Level (BSL) monitoring.
• Medication administration via Webster pack and experience with insulin injections is highly desired. Full training and sign off by our RN will be provided.
• Mobility support includes Transfers to toilet, wheelchair, car, and bed.
• Experience with manual foldable wheelchairs for outdoor mobility.
• Personal Care includes Meal preparation, showing, changing continence aids, changing clothes, following exercise plan, bedtime and morning routines.
• Experience working in complex care disability work.
• Compassion, empathy and understanding.
• The ability to multi-task, prioritise and respond to emergency situations.
• Reliability and excellent communication skills to be able to work with people living with barriers and additional needs.
• Any other task as required.

Requirements & Mandatory Checks

• Female Disability Support Worker requested as per NDIS choice and control.
• Cert III in Individual Support or Disability.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, 4x NDIS Orientation Modules, and Current First Aid/CPR.
• WWC paid employee check.
• Valid Driver’s License and fully insured vehicle.
• High-level adaptive communication, emotional resilience, and professional empathy.
