About the role

Reporting to the Head of AR Groups, the Distribution Manager is responsible for account management and business development across an assigned broker panel and geographic region. The role supports the profitable growth, retention and performance of the portfolio through the distribution of Blue Zebra insurance products. Key duties include:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external broker partners, ensuring consistently high service levels.
  • Manage assigned broker accounts, including onboarding, training and ongoing engagement.
  • Achieve budgeted Gross Written Premium (GWP) and increase broker engagement and activity.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including portfolio transfers from intermediaries.
  • Provide market intelligence, including feedback on competitor activity, pricing, and changing market conditions.
  • Maintain accurate broker accounts and activity records within policy systems, CRM and SharePoint.
  • Generate and review performance reports for key broker partners, alongside other ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Work closely with underwriting, operations, claims and compliance teams to ensure effective technical and operational support.
  • Manage any claims escalations from external broker partners, ensuring consistently high service levels.
  • Participate in internal projects and initiatives as required.
  • Attend broker events, conferences, professional development days and webinars as required.

About you

  • Certificate IV in General Insurance or higher (desirable).
  • Completion of ASIC RG146 (Tier 1) accreditation (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of the intermediated insurance market, specifically broker distribution.
  • Working knowledge of underwriting principles, insurance legislation and market trends.
  • Established relationships within the broker market.
  • Sound understanding of basic accounting, underwriting and claims processes.
  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and monetise opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High organizational and time management capability.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Effective conflict resolution and complaints management skills.
