Project Coordinator – Cancer Navigation Service Directory

About the team/About the role: 

The role will be based at Cancer Council NSW, within the Cancer Information and Support Services (CISS) Division. CISS aims to empower and support people affected by cancer, so that no one needs to face cancer alone. This Division assists people as they navigate the cancer journey, easing their emotional and practical burdens and helping them make informed decisions. Working closely with the Project Lead, Cancer Navigation Service Directory, this role will support the successful delivery of the Service Directory, and staff and public facing service finders.   

The National Navigation Service Directory will provide a centralised, up-to-date repository of supportive care services, facilitating quick and efficient identification and referral of individuals to Cancer Council, ACNNP partners, and non-ACNNP organisations. Information in the Service Directory will be used by 13 11 20 staff for ready access to up-to-date information about available services, and for a public-facing service finder, to help people affected by cancer self-navigate to relevant support services.  

Full-Time contract until June 2027.

Key responsibilities of the role:  

  • Develop, enter and maintain high quality content for the Service Directory, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with the Service Directory Management Framework.   
  • Assist with coordination of user acceptance testing.   
  • Support development of training and resources for staff to ensure effective uptake and utilisation of the new Service Finder.   
  • Assist with regular content review, updates, and quality assurance of the Service Directory.   
  • Process requests for new organisations to be added, ensuring alignment with the Framework.   
  • Provide general project support to the Project Lead, Cancer Navigation Service Directory and Manager, Cancer Support and Navigation, including assisting with risk management, and troubleshooting.   
  • Any other duties that may be required to meet the needs of the organisation.   

About you:  

Essential:  

  • Experience in project coordination or administration.   
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and effectively in plain English for diverse audiences.   
  • Ability to keep accurate records and update databases.   
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and changing environment across multiple tasks, while adhering to deadlines.   
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to build rapport and communicate complex ideas at all levels and audiences, both technically and non-technically.  
  • Experience using databases, and computer literacy in Microsoft office suite of programs – Outlook, Word, Excel.   

Desirable:  

  • Previous experience with maintaining service directories.   
  • Experience supporting the development and delivery of staff training and user acceptance testing.   
  • Experience working in health care or cancer sector.
