Remote, or Hybrid from our beautiful, new office spaces in Melbourne & Adelaide
We’re looking for a senior, commercially minded Social Media Manager to own and scale Sweat’s social media presence as a powerful growth engine; driving reach, relevance, lead generation, and conversion through high-performing content.
Sweat is home to the largest and most engaged female fitness community on the planet. Our social channels play a critical role in inspiring women, building brand affinity, and converting audiences into long-term members. In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of brand, content, and business; accountable for everything from big-picture strategy to the details that make content perform.
You’ll work closely with the Marketing and Creative teams, collaborate with key talent and partners (including Kayla Itsines where relevant), and lead a small social team to deliver measurable commercial impact across Sweat’s global social ecosystem.
If you thrive on momentum, love turning real moments into content that cuts through, and know how to connect social to commercial outcomes, this is a career-defining role for you.
The Role
This role can be conducted remotely, or in a flexible hybrid pattern from our new office spaces in Melbourne or Adelaide. Regardless of where you are, you will be regularly collaborating to plan, film, and produce content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Paid Social.
You’ll be on the ground capturing everyday moments, reacting to trends in real time, directing shoots, and delivering content that performs across reach, engagement, acquisition, and conversion. In this role, you will;
Strategy & Growth
- Own the end-to-end social strategy for Sweat’s channels.
- Establish clear roles for core and reach platforms, optimising content across the full marketing funnel.
- Build and manage a calendar that balances relevance, reach, growth, engagement, affinity and conversion.
- Translate Sweat’s brand pillars into content that feels authentic, valuable and commercially effective.
Content, Production & Publishing
- Ideate hooks, self-shoot and produce content on iPhone, brief videographers and editors, and publish with pace.
- Stay ahead of trends and confidently prioritise reactive or live content when needed.
- Nail thumbnails, titles, captions, CTAs and timing; platform by platform.
- Repurpose content intelligently while creating bespoke executions where it counts.
- Direct talent on camera and manage shoots with precision, energy and professionalism.
Commerce, Campaigns & Conversion
- Connect social content to business outcomes; launches, trials, promotions, partnerships and events.
- Continuously test, optimise and iterate to improve views, clicks, trials and retention.
Leadership & Influence
- Lead and mentor a small internal social team, plus freelancers or casuals as required.
- Confidently present performance insights, recommendations and bold ideas to senior stakeholders.
- Act as the internal owner and subject-matter expert for social within Sweat, influencing how the business shows up culturally and commercially.
- Coordinate smoothly with partners, collaborators and agencies.
Insight, Innovation & Governance
- Run regular test-and-learn cycles across hooks, formats, editing styles and platform features.
- Maintain clear reporting frameworks and performance visibility.
- Stay ahead of platform shifts, algorithm changes and best practice.
- Uphold brand, legal and platform standards in partnership with Marketing and Legal.
About You
- 7+ years experience in social media, including people leadership.
- Proven short-form performance end-to-end (ideate → shoot → edit → publish → iterate).
- Strong commercial lens; you can clearly show how content drives trials, subscriptions and retention.
- Confidence managing shoots, talent, videographers and tight timelines.
- Fluency in video editing and social media management tools.
- Comfortable working outside standard hours at times; travel may be required.
