Social Media Manager- Kayla Itsines

Gold Coast, Queensland 9726, Australia • Full-time

Description

We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to lead the day-to-day social presence of Kayla Itsines- one of the most recognised women in global fitness.

This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes role for someone who enjoys being close to the action. You’ll work alongside Kayla to capture real moments as they happen, shape how her content comes to life across platforms, and ensure her social presence supports the broader growth of Sweat.

It’s not a content scheduling role, and it’s not a purely strategic role. You’ll be involved in the thinking and the doing; from filming on the ground and directing shoots, to planning content, reacting to trends, and working with the Sweat team to connect social content to launches, trials, and campaigns.

You’ll work closely with Kayla, her Brand & Business Manager, and Sweat’s Marketing and Creative teams. You’ll also lead a small social team and collaborate with videographers and freelancers to keep content moving at pace.

This role suits someone grounded, confident, and organised, who enjoys ownership, moves quickly, and can be trusted to make good calls in real time.

What You’ll Be Doing

Day-to-Day Content & Production

  • Working alongside an amazing team you will be leading, – our in-house videographer and social media co-ordinator you will spend regular time with Kayla capturing day-to-day content in real environments (office, gym, travel, events).
  • Work with the team to plan and execute shoots.
  • Self-shoot content on iPhone when needed and brief editors on execution.
  • React quickly to trends, moments, and opportunities as they arise.
  • Direct Kayla on camera and guide shoots with clarity and confidence.
  • You’ll assist with publishing content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube.

Social Strategy & Planning

  • Plan and manage Kayla’s social content calendar across platforms.
  • Define the role of each channel and ensure content feels considered, consistent, and relevant.
  • Balance different content needs – brand, engagement, growth, launches, and partnerships.
  • Translate Kayla’s brand pillars into content that feels natural, valuable, and aligned.

Commercial & Campaign Support

  • Support key business moments such as launches, trials, promotions, partnerships, and events through social content.
  • Work with Marketing and Performance teams to ensure social content supports broader campaign goals.
  • Review performance regularly and make practical adjustments to improve results.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and support a small internal social team, plus freelancers where required.
  • Coordinate closely with Sweat’s Marketing and Creative teams to stay aligned.
  • Share insights, performance updates, and recommendations clearly and simply.

Foundations & Standards

  • Keep reporting clear and performance visible.
  • Stay across platform changes and evolving best practice.
  • Protect Kayla’s privacy and personal boundaries at all times.
  • Ensure content meets brand, legal, and platform standards in partnership with Marketing and Legal.

About You

You’re calm, capable, and enjoy being responsible for something visible. You likely have experience owning social media for a personal brand, creator, or consumer brand, and you’re comfortable balancing creativity with structure and accountability.

You’ll need:

  • Senior-level experience managing social media end-to-end.
  • A hands-on mindset; comfortable filming, editing, directing, and publishing content.
  • Confidence working closely with a high-profile individual.
  • Strong organisation, follow-through, and judgment.
  • Experience leading or mentoring others.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where plans can change.
  • Experience with social and video tools.
  • To be based on the Gold Coast.
  • Flexibility around hours and occasional travel when required.
  • You don’t need to have worked with a global creator before, but you do need to be dependable, thoughtful, and confident taking ownership.

Why You’ll Love This Role

You’ll join a high-performing, supportive team that values trust, clarity, and getting things done properly.

You’ll play a key role in shaping how one of the most influential personal brands in fitness shows up globally; working closely with Kayla day to day, while being supported by a broader marketing and creative team. There’s room to grow as the role evolves, and real scope to make an impact.

What Sweat Offers

  • A supportive, values-led team environment.
  • A personal Professional Development budget.
  • A generous ‘Bumps and Babies’ parental leave program.
  • A safe, inclusive workplace.
  • Access to a gym to train alongside Kayla.
