Checkout Operator

Summary:

The Checkout Operator position in the FMCG industry is essential for ensuring smooth and efficient customer transactions. Located in North Perth, this role involves providing exceptional customer service, accurately handling cash and electronic payments, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and assist with inquiries about products and services.
• Operate cash registers and scanners to process transactions accurately.
• Count and balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Address and resolve customer complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.
• Adhere to all cash handling policies and procedures in the retail environment.
• Promote special offers, new products, and additional services to customers.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the retail industry is preferred.
• Experience with cash handling is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Capacity to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
• Comfortable working in a climate-controlled retail environment with exposure to loud noises and occasionally challenging customer interactions.
