About the role:
The Team Leader – afternoon shift plays a key operational role within the workshop and yard, acting as the senior worker on shift and ensuring daily activities run safely, efficiently, and in an organised manner. This hands-on position involves overseeing workflow, supporting other workers, and coordinating shift tasks while also performing a wide range of operational duties.
This is an afternoon shift role from 2pm – 10pm.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate daily production activities to ensure efficient workflow for a small team on afternoon shift.
- Operating forklift for loading and unloading sheet piles, machinery, and other products
- General labouring tasks – handling, storing, distribution
- Picking and packing orders
- Cleaning and sealing steel sheet piling
- Operating oxy-fuel and plasma cutting equipment
- Operate machinery and equipment
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning tasks
- Maintain inventory, stock takes and associated paperwork
What you’ll need:
- Drivers license
- Forklift (LF) license
- White card
- Must have forklift experience. Experience operating 16tonne forklift is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential
