About the Role
Are you a technically driven AWS specialist ready to move beyond just building cloud resources and into mastering the full cloud lifecycle?
As a Level 2 Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you are the frontline guardian of operational excellence. This role focuses on ensuring every client environment aligns with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
You will:
Bridge the gap between infrastructure and proactive management Build and manage an Active Alerting ecosystem
- Integrate environments into PagerDuty and ConnectWise
- Ensure environments are secure, compliant, and resilient by design This role offers variety across:
- Run (Managed Services): Stability and optimisation
- Build (ProServe): Migrations and new feature delivery
Key Responsibilities
Managed Services & Proactive Operations (Run)
- Audit and align AWS environments to best practices
- Implement monitoring and alerting integrations (ITSM tools)
- Act as Level 2 escalation for incidents and root cause analysis
- Optimise cost, performance, and security
ProServe & Build Engagements (Build)
- Deploy AWS workloads from solution designs
- Support scaling of client applications
- Assist with cloud migrations
Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain technical documentation
- Support compliance (e.g. ISO 27001)
- Ensure smooth transition from Build to Run
Essential Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
- 3+ years AWS Cloud Engineering experience
- Strong experience across: EC2, ECS, Fargate, Lambda RDS, DynamoDB, S3 Cost optimisation tools (Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor) IAM and AWS Control Tower
Linux SysOps
- Advanced Linux administration (Ubuntu / Amazon Linux)
Certification
- AWS Certified Associate (or higher)
Additional Technical Skills
- Solution architecture design (conceptual, logical, physical)
- Hybrid connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, SD-WAN)
- AWS Well-Architected Framework experience
- Strong networking and security knowledge
Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell or NodeJS
- Terraform (primary IaC tool)
- CloudFormation
- Git-based version control
DevOps & Release Management
- Clean coding and peer review practices
- CI/CD pipeline management
- SRE principles for reliability and observability
