Head of Operations
We are partnering with a growing Australian product based business supplying practical, high quality equipment solutions to customers across agriculture, trade and regional markets.
This is a hands on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building structure, improving systems and keeping a fast moving business operating smoothly. You will work closely with the founder and leadership team to strengthen day to day operations, support growth, improve customer experience and create scalable processes across the business.
About the Role
The Head of Operations will take ownership of the operational engine of the business, including inventory, supply chain, fulfilment, customer operations, process improvement, supplier coordination and team leadership.
This role would suit someone who is commercially minded, highly organised and comfortable working in a practical, founder led environment where no 2 days look the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day to day operations across inventory, purchasing, fulfilment, logistics and customer support
- Improve internal systems, reporting, processes and operating rhythms
- Manage stock availability, supplier timelines, forecasting and operational efficiency
- Support dealer, reseller or trade partner relationships from an operational perspective
- Identify bottlenecks across the business and implement practical improvements
- Strengthen customer experience across order fulfilment, delivery, returns and warranty processes
- Work closely with the founder and leadership team on growth planning and operational priorities
- Lead and support internal teams across operations, warehouse, customer service or administration
- Use data to improve service levels, stock accuracy, margins and business performance
- Build scalable processes that allow the business to grow without becoming founder dependent
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will come from a product based business where they have managed a start up environment, operations across stock, suppliers, fulfilment, customers and internal teams.
What You Will Bring
- Strong operational leadership experience in a small to medium product based business
- Experience managing inventory, purchasing, stock control, logistics or fulfilment
- Exposure to dealer, reseller, trade, branch or distribution networks
- A practical, hands on leadership style
- Strong commercial judgement and problem solving ability
- Confidence working with founders or business owners in a fast paced environment
- Ability to create structure, improve processes and drive accountability
- Strong communication skills with internal teams, suppliers and customers
- Experience supporting practical customer groups such as farmers, trades, mechanics, installers or regional buyers would be highly regarded
