Environmental Consultant (arboriculture)

We are seeking a motivated individual who is passionate about environmental consulting and urban forestry, and wants to make a positive impact on the environment and the community. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, think critically, and be capable of producing environmental solutions focused on trees in the urban environment.

We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate individual to work on projects across the state. These include “Project Arborist Services” for protecting trees during development in line with AS4970. This role entails managing collection of field data, in-depth assessments and report preperation. The successful candidate will be working to deadlines, producing reports of the highest standard whach are based on verifiable evidence and approved methodologies.

Essential Skills:

Familiarity with arboriculture reports required for protection of trees on development sites

Familiarity with assessing risk from trees

Familiarity with technical report writing and communication

Desirable Skills:

Field assessment and data collection

Report writing and editing

Software and data management skills

Project management

Tree identification

QTRA risk assessment

Tree health and condition assessment

Desirable Qualifications:

Graduate Certificate in Arboriculture

Diploma of Arboriculture

Degree in Urban Horticulture

Desirable Attributes:

Driven to develop a career with purpose

Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

Have a passion for providing evidence-based and independent advice to clients

Have strong communication skills
