About the role
As the business unit manager of our international product line, the Guided by Nature Business & Operations Manager role blends business leadership with hands-on delivery across all areas of our growing international brand. This is an opportunity to run your own small business whilst still having the support and access to broader TWC group.
In this role you will oversee the end-to-end guest journey and lead the product management of Guided By Nature including identifying product, competitor analysis, building key supplier relationships, contract negotiations and operational delivery ensuring we achieve our revenue and target walker number goals year-on-year.
This is a part-time permanent position (0.6FTE) based in our Brisbane office and would suit somebody looking to step into a broader management role overseeing the complete guest and product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop an agreed set of inventory of international destinations for the Guided By Nature product line.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimise sales of Guided By Nature walks.
- Inspire and support the Sales & Marketing team with the processes, resources and training required to promote and sell Guided By Nature walks.
- Data driven decision making utilising available market data, competitor information, previous Guided By Nature financial performance, and guest feedback to continually optimise and refine our international products, ensuring an optimal product mix.
- Identify and represent Guided By Nature at relevant meetings and events with partners.
- Ensure the smooth delivery of Guided By Nature product in accordance with customer value propositions.
- Budget owner for the Guided by Nature product line responsible for monitoring product profitability and managing P&L drivers to improve overall financial performance.
- Build and maintain connection internally of the Guided By Nature brand to broader Walking Group.
What you will bring
To succeed as our GBN Business & Operations Manager, you should have the following skills and experience:
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience working in business leadership with a track record of indirect influence that drives business outcomes
- Able to demonstrate data-driven decision making, whilst maintaining focus on our guests as the centre of what we do
- Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of an organisation
- Commercially astute and mindful of the commercial impact of your work on profits
- Proactive and results-oriented approach, with a strong focus on designing and delivering exceptional customer experiences
- Excellent presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated and accountable, with a strong desire to succeed
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in either product development or operations within the travel industry
- Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of market dynamics and customer needs in the tourism sector
Desirable Experience/Qualifications:
- Established relationships with international suppliers in the tourism industry
- Demonstrated experience with contract negotiation, budget analysis and informing consumer pricing
