Tandem Carers is the voice for family, carers, and supporters of people experiencing mental health challenges in Victoria. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Data and Membership Systems Officer.

About the Role:

Join Tandem’s mission to amplify the voice of family, carers, and supporters of people experiencing mental health challenges. As the Data and Membership Systems Officer, you will ensure our membership and database systems are accurate, secure and accessible. Your technical skills will directly support our members, teams, and broader impact by enabling clear, confident data-informed decisions and engagement.

  • Support the day-to-day management, performance, and optimisation of Tandem’s database and membership systems.
  • Maintain data integrity and uphold high standards for data security, accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Provide friendly, clear technical support to staff and members, translating complex system requirements into easy-to-follow solutions.
  • Create and maintain written and video-based user guides to support system learning, onboarding and change.
  • Contribute to system enhancements and evolving data requirements in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external consultants.

What Makes Me Ideal:

  • Strong experience working with CRM or database systems, including administration and user support.
  • High attention to detail with a passion for maintaining data accuracy and consistency.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot system issues and improve workflows.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Familiarity with system documentation and tools such as Vimeo or Scribe for training materials.
  • Lived experience as a carer or direct understanding of the mental health carer experience is highly valued.

Who we are Tandem is the Victorian peak body representing family and friends supporting people living with mental health issues. Tandem’s mission is to provide leadership and coordination for the community of individuals and organisations who seek better outcomes for Victorian mental health carers. Tandem is a member of Mental Health Carers Australia, a national advocacy group solely concerned with the well-being and promotion of mental health carer needs. What we do We advocate for family and friend involvement in planning and care, participation in system change and support. We promote and support the development of the Mental Health Carer Workforce and leadership. We inform and empower family and friends to access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). We promote and collaborate on the delivery of training on family inclusive practice for mental health professionals. We provide information, education, and training to family and friends supporting people with mental health issues. We support and advocate for the diverse needs of family, friends and other supporters of people living with mental health issues. We collaborate on research and policy development on matters in relevant areas. We raise community awareness about the important role of family and friends in mental health recovery. We administer the Carer Support Fund which provides financial assistance to carers of people registered with Area Mental Health Services in Victoria. Tandem’s members include family and friends (carers* and former carers), regional carer networks and support groups, organisations with a significant mental health focus, and those working in the sector. * A mental health carer is a family member, friend or supporter of a person living with this experience.
