The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Plant Mechanic with Hydraulic Experience to join our growing team. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of plant and hydraulic equipment both in the workshop and occasionally in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on plant and equipment.
  • Service and maintain hydraulic systems and components.
  • Repair and replace hydraulic hoses, fittings, pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical manuals.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues efficiently.
  • Complete service reports and maintenance records accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Provide professional customer service when dealing with clients.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Trade qualification as a Plant Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Fitter & Turner, or similar.
  • Proven experience working with hydraulic systems and components.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Current driver’s licence.
  • Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
  • Welding and fabrication experience (advantageous).
