About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Case Worker –Youth Justice Programs to join our Family and Justice Programs team on a Fixed term basis until 30th July 2027.

This role is based in North Sydney and requires regular outreach and travel to meet young people and families in community settings across South Sydney areas and the Ashfield LGA.

In this role, you will provide intensive, front-line case management support to young people aged 10–17 who are involved in the youth justice system. You will work collaboratively with families, government agencies, and community services to deliver holistic, person-centred outcomes.

This is a dynamic position requiring flexibility, including participation in a rotating roster and occasional residential support.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end case management including assessment, planning, implementation, and review
  • Develop and monitor individualised case plans to support positive outcomes
  • Coordinate services and referrals across internal and external providers
  • Provide practical support including life skills development, accommodation support, and outreach
  • Advocate for young people and represent Taldumande in interagency forums
  • Maintain accurate, timely case notes and reporting
  • Work collaboratively with families, cultural representatives, and stakeholders
  • Support young people transitioning out of services and manage case closure processes
  • Contribute to reducing the overrepresentation of Aboriginal young people in the justice system

About You

You are a dedicated and resilient professional with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work, Case Work or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience in case management with vulnerable young people
  • Experience working with young people involved in the youth justice system
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and complex needs
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and report writing skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and networking skills

 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current unrestricted Drivers Licence and access to a fully insured vehicle
