About us

At the Sydney Anglican Offices we are dedicated to supporting the growth of God’s Kingdom by providing valued services to churches and organisations across the Anglican Diocese of Sydney.

This role sits within Sydney Anglican Property (SAP).  The organisation oversees a multi-billion dollar balance sheet of property assets and a significant capital and maintenance program. It also provides strategic property development, asset management, and advisory services to support parishes, and diocesan ministries. 

Our vision is to provide parishes with great infrastructure, now and into the future, to help people meet and know Jesus. In the short-term, we aim to partner with parishes to innovatively manage, develop and activate church infrastructure to support more effective ministry, care and compassion where the people of Greater Sydney and the Illawarra can meet and know Jesus.  

Over the longer-term SAP will establish a sustainable funding platform for future generations of Christians to enable the timely provision of new and augmented ministry infrastructure, where needed, to have the maximum gospel impact.

About the role

The Urban Renewal Manager is a key member of SAP’s Strategy and Development team and serves as the operational lead for delivering projects under the Urban Renewal Pilot Program (URPP). 

The role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing URPP projects by: 

  • Driving on-time and on-budget delivery of URPP projects 
  • Optimising project progression through feasibility, development, pre-construction and construction phases 
  • Chairing multiple project control groups across current URPP projects 
  • Managing and supporting SAP representatives involved in URPP project control groups 
  • Preparing reports to committees as required 
  • Working closely with program partners – the Sustainable Development Group (SDG) to identify and resolve project issues 
  • Assessing and progressing potential URPP opportunities through participation in the URPP triage team 
  • Developing, implementing and continuously improving policies, systems and processes to strengthen the delivery of the URPP 
  • Supporting advocacy and industry activities as required 

About You 

We are seeking a professional in built‑environment with strong, multi‑disciplinary expertise across areas such as property development, project management, urban planning, architecture, engineering, or a related field. 

You will bring:

  • A strong communicator, able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. 
  • A collaborative mindset, with proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships. 
  • A disciplined and focused approach to executing plans and delivering outcomes. 
  • The resilience and judgement to perform effectively in high‑pressure environments. 

 Consistent with the ethos and values of the Sydney Anglican Offices, applicants for the position must have a demonstrated Christian commitment and are an active member of a church. Knowledge of the Diocese is an advantage.
